Plastic Geology

$600.00

“Plastic Planet” is a small scale series of work that explores a very large scale problem.

Plastic Geology

16 by 3 inches
This work is stretched over a mat board insert with cotton backing and picture hanger.

Today, over 300 million tons of plastic are produced every year. (International Union for Conservation of Nature)

According to a study led by Jan Zalasiewicz, published in the journal Anthropocene - plastics may be used as a stratigraphic indicator of the Anthropocene.

The Anthropocene is widely recognized as the current geological age, viewed as the period during which human activity has been the dominant influence on climate and the environment.
